REN 96 COMPETITIONS

The Club Championships

The Club Championships is open to all members of the club.

It is held in the second half of the year usually over two Sunday nights at Johnstone pool.

The age- groups and distances swum are as follows:-

• All Development Squad Swimmers regardless of age swim 25metres on each stroke.

• Pennants are presented to all development swimmers.

• This is usually the first competition that the children enter and the club wants to encourage them to compete.

Age Distances and Strokes

8years and under 100metres I/M and 50metres of each stroke

9years 100metres I/M and 50metres of each stroke

10/11years 100metres I/M and 100metres of each stroke

12/13years 200metres I/M and 100metres of each stroke

14/15years 200metres I/M and 100metres of each stroke

16years and over 400metres I/M and 200metres of each stroke

Age is at 31^st December in the year that the competition takes place.

All children swimming the same distance will be divided into heats according to their

best time and the results are then separated into the above age groups.

In each event there are medals for first, second and third and ribbons for fourth, fifth and sixth.

There is an overall champion for each age group. In each event the winner gets six points,

second place gets five points and so on.

The person with the most points in each age group is the overall champion for that age group.

Boys and girls swim in separate events.
